Senior Pastor: Jim Duggan On December 9, 1964 the
angels sang, the trumpets sounded, and a voice from heaven shouted: “Look
out below!” That is the day the world
was introduced to Jim Duggan. Born in the small town of Sandersville, Georgia,
Jim was raised in nearby (and slightly larger) Macon. Due to family heritage and
hometown upbringing, Jim is bilingual – he speaks fluent English and Redneck. Jim enjoyed the blessing of
being raised in a Christian home, educated at a Christian school, and attended a
strong Christ
centered church. He received a B.A. from Mercer University in 1987 and a Master’s Degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1997. He also enjoyed additional studies at New
Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s North
Georgia Campus. On October 26, 1991 Jim hit
the lottery big time! Well, not literally, but even better – that is the day
he married his sweetheart, the former Andrea Johnson. Jim and Andrea were
blessed with a daughter, Rebekah, on September 6, 2002. They have one pet of
their own, a cat Rahab. In 1982, Jim began in
ministry serving various churches as in youth and music ministries, but in 1986,
jim recognized God’s calling on his life to be a pastor. He has pastored
Garrison Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia, Cooperville Baptist Church
(Coopers, GA), Cadwell (GA) Baptist Church, Pointe South Community Church
(Riverdale, GA), First Baptist Church of Hoschton, Georgia, and now, First
Baptist Church, Ty Ty, Georgia. Jim loves to write, read,
and surf the internet. He is a big-time sports fan - Braves, Falcons, and
Jackets. He publishes a biweekly blog, Jim’s
Gems and a monthly article in The Christian Voice magazine. He loves music
– everything from classical to R&B, from country to rock and everything in
between. Jim collects Tabasco® trinkets and smiley faces and enjoys photography
as a hobby. Email address: jduggan@tytyfbc.org Minister of Music and Education: John Davis

Brian comes to us from Louisville, Kentucky where he recently finished a Masters of Divinity degree in May of 2010 from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Prior to leaving for Kentucky, he attended the University of Georgia, earning a B.A. in 2004. While in Athens, he also met his lovely wife Courtenay, to whom he has been married to for five years now. Courtenay also earn a BFA from the University of Georgia and has worked at schools in both Georgia and Kentucky teaching Art. While living in Kentucky, God graced their lives with a precious little daughter, Harper Lane Puckett, on March 3, 2010. Over the years Brian has been actively serving the Lord in college, youth, and music ministries both in Georgia and Kentucky. He has a huge heart for family ministry and longs to see families come to Christ and worship the Lord actively in the church as well as in the home. Please feel free to contact him if you ever want to talk about the Lord, family issues, or are looking for resources to grow your personal and family life. Email address: bpuckett@tytyfbc.org
I have lived in Tifton, Georgia all my life and I graduated from Tift County High School in 1982. In October of 1983, I married my husband, Paul, and in April of 1986, God blessed us with a wonderful son, Christopher. I have been an Office Manager for 12 years and was in banking for 2 years. I have worked with youth in Discipleship Training and Paul and I teach the 11th and 12th Grade Sunday School class, while also serving on the Youth Committee. I am very excited about being the Ministry Assistant at our church; having felt led for quite some time that God was calling me to work in this field of service. I am very thankful for God's many blessings and look forward to serving in this manner. Email address: cleger@tytyfbc.org |
