The Easter Story

Make a basket that communicates the significance of Easter to your children.  Purchase a special Easter basket and 12 colored plastic eggs.  Fill the eggs with the following items and a slip of paper with the Scripture verse.  12 days prior to Easter, begin to open one egg every day and tell the story of Easter.

(Nails - nails on the cross)

 

Day 6, Monday, March 25, 2002
(a small metal or paper cross)

 

Day 7, Tuesday, March 26, 2002
(dice - casting lots)

 

Day 8, Wednesday, March 27, 2002
(toothpick - a spear)

Day 9, Thursday, March 28, 2002
(white cloth - burial linen)

 

Day 10, Good Friday, March 29, 2002
(cinnamon sticks - spices)

 

Day 11, Saturday, March 30, 2002
(stone - over the mouth of the tomb)

 

Day 12, Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002
